brushing

Use a soft toothbrush with firm pressure and brush at a 45-degree angle to the tooth; brush in small circles above and below the brackets. Your toothbrush will wear out faster because of your appliances, so be sure to replace it whenever the bristles start to fray or just about every three months during your orthodontic treatment. We will be happy to educate you in the proper way to brush and floss your teeth, if you are unsure how to properly brush and floss your teeth. You should also speak to your family dentist and your dental hygienist, about the proper oral hygiene instructions.

Our office recommends the Sonicare electric toothbrush to help remove plaque. A professional model is available for purchase at special pricing through our office. Please ask our clinical patient coordinator for details!
